Eng. Wambui Gachiengo Nyabero

Wambui Nyabero, chair of the TAMC organizing committee, is a passionate advocate for the development of homegrown African innovations, especially in the medtech space. She is an inventor and patent-holder, an innovator who led development of a COVID-19 ventilator winning the 2021 Kenya American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Innovator Showcase award. Wambui is a serial entrepreneur who has founded several companies in the U.S and Kenya. Her experience in technology leadership includes ten years at St. Jude Medical (now Abbott). Wambui holds Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Systems Engineering degrees from Stanford University.
